We hope this year has started off well for you. The 67th Scherschel Reunion is upon us and we look forward to continuing our annual tradition. Before summer plans solidify, we’d like to invite you to the reunion on Saturday, June 20th which is the weekend of Father’s Day. After four years of reunions being held on the ancestral farms, this year’s location will be a brand new one in the venue rotation.
Our hosts this year are Dean and Johanna (Scherschel) Crawford of Noblesville, IN. Their homestead in the northern suburb of Indianapolis offers us another ideal location and new venue to reconnect. Johanna is the eldest daughter of John Kent Scherschel and Lynne Nan Brewer and one of the many granddaughters of John Peter Scherschel and Tressie Louise Steele. Two charts depicting where Dean and Johanna position within the broader Scherschel family are attached along with images of the reunion venue and map to their address. This year, it will be standard operating procedures as in years past. Please bring a potluck item to share for lunch. And we highly recommend that you bring folding chairs and a folding table or two if you need one. Our hosts will provide limited tables and chairs along with drinks. There will be a tent provided for shade and protection from the elements if needed. As well, you might want to wear good walking shoes since their property has some nice walking trails available.
For households residing around Indianapolis or Chicago who weren’t able to make it to the ancestral farm reunions the past few years, we’d love to see you to include you in the group photos and catch up. This year’s venue is a much shorter travel distance for those in central/northern Indiana or near Chicago. The Scherschel Legacy curator will take the group photos again for distribution in the days after the reunion. We are immensely grateful to Dean, Johanna and their family for offering their residence to host us this year as we continue with the 67th year of our Scherschel family tradition.
