The second 2026 Summer Scherschel Reunion took place at Estes Park, Colorado from July 19 to 22.
The descendant line of the Paul William Scherschel, Jr. and Ann (Grepo) Scherschel (originally from Gary, Indiana and later settled in Denver, Colorado) made their trek up in the mountains of Colorado west of Denver for their biannual gathering. This particular reunion was started as a new tradition for this branch of the family at the request of Paul William Scherschel, Jr. before his passing. And with each new year, this branch of the global Scherschel family continues to grow with new descendants being born.
It turned out to be another completely successful gathering spearheaded by Paul and Ann’s two eldest daughters, Pamela Ann (Scherschel) Kaufman and Karen Marie (Scherschel) Miller. The three-day event was another success and joyous time for the youngest generation of descendants to be able to get to know each other. It was held at the YMCA of the Rockies at Estes Park with plenty of activities pursued by all of the attendees. From hiking, swimming and archery to evening dinners, golf and pickleball, the three day gathering continued our tradition of keeping ties across the bloodline’s branches maintained and strong.
It’s always a win for the Scherschel family when we keep gathering like this for continuity. Here’s to wrapping up another beautiful Summer of Scherschels coming together in multiple locations around the country to honor our heritage and keep our personal connections thriving.
